Divis returns to the home of the Druid from which he has been banished, with a message for Veran. After being banished again he throws himself off a cliff into the ocean.

The young women are undergoing their initiation ceremony when the newly arrived Roman legion crash the party in a murderous rampage. Cait is led away by her sister (later killed) but saved by Divis.

King Pellenor arrives home with his children and household after a disastrous attempt at a marriage union between the Cantii and Regni tribes (Britannia's version of the GOT red wedding).

After being captured and tortured by Veran and his followers, Antonius is released. He returns to the Roman camp with a message for Aulus from the underworld, claiming to be an ancestor of Aulus.
