Opening, Izzie decorates the Christmas tree, asking George and Meredith if they like the decorations.

Burke tells Justin that he is going to get a heart transplant.

Burke talks to Justin about transplant. Richard and Miranda are looking at surgical board when Patricia gives him "message" from Adele. Addison tries to talk about Christmas shopping with Derek.

George tells Nadia's family that her surgery has to be postponed again. Cristina recruits George to help Alex study.

Justin's mother is decorating his room after his surgery.

Justin explains to mother and preacher that he feels guilty about other children having to die in order for him to receive a heart. He then goes into cardiac arrest.

Derek puts on "Hanukah carols" during Mr. Epstein's 2nd surgery. Bailey talks to George, Mere, and her baby during Mrs. Shelton's surgery. Izzie finds Alex sleeping instead of studying.

Christina talks to a patient about her belief in medicine and about his choice to live.

Derek runs in Addison at Joe's and tells her that he fell in love with Meredith; Christina finds a decorated Christmas tree at home.

Izzie decorates the tree.

Burke tells Justin he needs a new heart.

Alex examines Cristina.

Meredith leaves the hospital.
