Alex and Izzie are in a trailer in the woods. Alex experiences a series of unfortunate trailer incidents. A bear goes through their trash. Alex screams.

Alex and Cristina urge Meredith to donate her liver to Thatcher, so that they can have a surgery. Izzie finds a tick on Alex's neck.

Owen and Izzie break the bad news to Randy. Izzie convinces Owen to try surgery again, beat the odds. Meredith is pissed. Alex urges her to ask Thatcher again.

Cristina, Derek, and Mer before surgery. Bailey starts Mer's surgery; Derek watches. Owen & Izzie operate on Randy. Cristina tells off Mark. Complications arise for Richard & Alex, and Owen & Izzie.

Cristina warns Richard not to waste her talent. Izzie apologizes to Randy's wife. The chief makes Callie an Attending. Izzie encounters the bear. Derek watches Mer, mer & lexie sleep; wake up and bond

Izzie convinces Owen to try something else for Randy; Alex tells Meredith to try again with Thatcher.

Alex starts his day, then runs into a bear outside the trailer.
