Venetia reads 'My Early Life'; Overnight a thick fog descends over England; the royals, Attlee and Venetia awaken to find themselves surround by a thicket of smog; The BBC radio reports and advice on the fog.

The press gather at the the hospital; Winston writes a speech on the fog.

Attlee stews after reading the glowing article on Prime Minister Churchill; Winston waits outside Queen Elizabeth meeting room; Elizabeth gives herself a moment before the meeting when the sun begins to break through the fog and shine through her window, she calls Winston in.
