Skullclub — The Glitch Mob
Beginning of the episode: Welcome to L.A.! Montage of dancers who made it through the audition round.
Beginning of the episode, part 2: Cat tries to convince us that callbacks is SUPER hard and dramatic. "Who will rise? Who will fall?! WHO WILL SUCCEED?!!"
Round 1 -- Solos. In-between solos, Steven Kador is in agony because his girlfriend is giving birth to their son and he's MISSING IT. He's watching her labor on FaceTime.
Round 1 -- Solos. This is where 36 dancers are cut, including Paul "Puppet Man" Brushaber. There were tears and sadness. Note that Steven Kador made it through.
Round 2 -- Hip Hop. Caleb Brauner, Megan Mercano, and Franchesca Bass are cut (along with 42 other dancers). 76 dancers will make it to the next round.
Round 3 -- Jazz. Serge (ballroom), "Johnny Waaks" (Waacker), Jourdan (ballet), Rudy (contemporary), and Zach (tap) all make it through to the next round.
Round 3 -- Jazz. 12 more dancers are eliminated from the competition, including Steven Kadar (hip hop, new father), Marie "Poppins" Bonnevay (French popper), and Shafeek Westbrook (B-boy).
Round 4 -- Ballroom. Tappers Zach Everheart and Valerie Rockey do fabulously! Lots of others make it through, too - Rudy, Christian, Jessica, Johnny Waacks, and (of course) all the ballroom dancers.
Round 5 -- Contemporary. Montage of dancers ecstatically making it to the next round. Cat says, "this is the most successful contemporary round in years!" (Played after Bridget Whitman is schooled.)
Round 6 -- Group Choreography. Played when Cat is explains the rules: the 50 remaining dancers are split into groups of 5 and randomly given music to choreograph. They have all night to prepare.
Round 6 -- Group Choreography. This is one of the group round songs (the group with Ricky Ubeda, Valerie Rockey, and Nick Garcia) but the actual performance wasn't aired, sadly. I bet it was good.:(
To Make You Feel My Love — Mick McAuley & Winifred Horan
Round 6 -- Group Choreography. Audition song for "One Love," the group with Carley Blaney, Novien Yarber, Ryan Johnson, Ryan Rickman (??), (all contemporary) and Serena Pav (Latin ballroom).
Round 6 -- Group Choreography. Montage of bad dances following "One Love's" debacle, and the crushed dancers (although only 6 actually got eliminated).
Round 7 -- Final Solos. Montage of the last 44 dancers performing their solos; also clips of them explaining why they should make it to Top 20. Ricky Ubeda was the only solo fully aired.
Top 20 reveal: Valerie Rockey (tap), Zack Everheart (tap), Jourdan Epstein (ballet), Casey Askew (contemporary), and Emily James (contemporary) are all in!
Top 20 reveal: Landon Anderson reacts to getting cut, and four more dancers join him in Disappointment Land, including Hailee Payne and Justine Lutz. More sadness.
Top 20 reveal: lots of ballroom dancers this year! Tanisha Belnap, Serge Onik, Malene Ostergaard, Brooklyn Fullmer, and Macquet Hill all get the good news after Nick Garcia starts the trend.
