So You Think You Can Dance Music

So You Think You Can Dance season 12 episode 8 soundtrack

Top 20 Perform & Elimination, 10 songs

The results of the first vote of the season determines which Stage and Street dancers in the Top 20 will face elimination.

  • Baila Como Yo — District 78
Opening number with all twenty dancers -- a "Day of the Dead" hip hop party, choreographed by Pharside and Phoenix.
  • Blucutu — SAAMARA
Hailee, Yorelis, and Darion dance a Salsa choreographed by Oksana Dmytrenko and Jonathan Platero. Darion is out-danced by the ladies, who completely rocked it.
  • Cry Me a River — Michael Bublé
Derek and Ariana dance a Jazz piece choreographed by Ray Leeper. They are grappling with the loss of a loved one, and they look sort of like mimes.
  • Until We Go Down — Ruelle
Virgil, Megz, and Alexia perform a Contemporary routine choreographed by Dee Caspary. The women are toxic and are running Virgil's life. They looked like they were dancing in a field of stars.
  • Dhol Baaje (feat. Monali Thakur) — Meet Bros Anjjan
Burim, Edson, Lily, and Gaby perform a Bollywood routine choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan. It is a "celebration of life" involving drums.
  • All About That Bass — Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox
Asaf, Kate, and Neptune perform a Broadway routine choreographed by Spencer Liff. The dancers are jazz musicians, with their own bodies as the instruments.
  • No Woman No Cry — Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jim & Jaja perform a hiphop (lyrical animation?) routine choreographed by Christopher Scott about a man's compassion for a woman's issues. He cheered her up. Best dance! Actual song was a live version
  • I’m So Sorry — Imagine Dragons
JJ, Moises, and Marissa perform a Jazz routine choreographed by Ray Leeper; Moises has been two-timing JJ and Marissa. They violently (and somewhat gleefully) confront him.
  • Stabat Mater — Woodkid
Team Stage group routine choreographed by Travis Wall. The dancers are old gods, fighting a battle.
  • Time — Nathan Lanier
Team Street group routine, choreographed by Christopher Scott and Phillip Chbeeb. The dance is about balance and involves see-saws.
