Victor Dashov and his daughters Sonya and Mia Karp check into the Queen's 200th Birthday party; Alberta checks both Rose and Mikhail; Moroi gossip about Rose's place at the party amongst their kind as Rose and Lissa drink and dance together.

At the church of the Academy, Lissa recites Old Moroi as she takes her place as the Head of Dragomir in from of the Queen, the Moroi Royal Court, other Moroi including Christian who she looks for courage in to say the old language perfectly.
